A Glimpse of My World

Life for me has been ever changing.

I grew up on a farm in Alabama

We moved to various duty stations (7 different states) when hubby was serving in the Navy

We moved back to another farm in Alabama

We moved to Virginia

But, wherever we were together, it was home and home was MAIN STREET for us whether we were on a farm or in a city.

Today I want to share a few pictures of the 'Main Street' in my life at present.

A Barn On Rt. 10

A Cotton Field

A Tobacco Basket On An Old Smokehouse

Smithfield Hams In A Store

Old Houses Neglected

and

Old Houses Restored

and much more.

  8. Hi Latane, I love your photos especially the cotton field and the old house, do you ever wonder what happened to the occupants and why they left their home ? Cotton fields would never survive in our climate!
I would love to ride the Amtrak train across country.

  11. I love this post!
That barn is lovely. I like the red of course but it's wonderful with the green doors and those cupolas.
Smithfield ham - yum! We used to live not far from the town of Smithfield where it all started.
That restored house is beautiful! Can't help but wonder what the inside looks like.
