White Fences

Do you like fences built with unpainted wood or had you rather paint your fence?  There is something about fences that are painted white that I really like. Maybe it's the dream of having a home with a 'little white picket fence' that hovers in my mind.. or maybe I just like WHITE. They look so clean!!

For FRIDAY FENCES I am submitting these three pretty white fences. If you like fences why don't you click on the link to see a lot of them. Thanks Jan and Jer for hosting this meme.

And, I am linking with THIS AND THAT as well. Check this link out too.

This is what I'd call an ideal white fence. Lots of design, linear and curvy, clean looking and charming. It is found in Rye, New York.

Ah.... the good ole white picket fence. But, this one has caps for the posts so that makes it different.

This gate is a little off-white. Don't know if it is because this is an older photo or if it is that color. This gate protects Hildene, the home of Robert Todd Lincoln, in Vermont. I love the way the entire gate swoops downward to the center. Nice.
My take on white fences..... til next time, have a great week.

  2. For me it's that dream of a white picket fence. I know at this stage of life it's not going to happen. :)
    These are lovely!
Oh to be able to go through the gate in that last shot - wow, a lovely place.

  3. Love your white fences...I've had one before, and it's a lot of work to keep it white.

  4. I too like a white painted fence. And homey ones....for sure. A cottage setting with lots of flowerbeds surrounded by a picket fence. Ooh yes!

  6. Picket fences have been a common site in American neighborhoods since the colonial times. They continue to be one of the most popular fence design options available today.

  8. Beautiful pictures. I would have a hard time choosing between white fences and unpainted ones. The white is so pretty, but the unpainted is rustic....glad I don't have to decide!
