Valentine Five

1. It's Friday the 13th. Anyone suspicious out there? I'm not or else I would stay in bed all day and not venture from under the covers. But, some people are... what about you? Suspicious or not?

2. Yesterday was a warm day for February, the sun was shining, just gorgeous. As the evening began, and dark started creeping along the edges of day, snow began to fall. Yes, the temps had begun to drop. Even though it did not stick, the snow was beautiful coming down under the street light.

3. I have to admit it..... I sometimes talk aloud to myself. I am alone, so who is to hear? And, it helps me keep focused and on task. Some say that old people do that but that can't be the case with me, right? (grin)

4. Sunday will be my only sister's 90th birthday. She isn't feeling well at present so could you add her to your prayer list? Thanks.

5. On the calendar The Commons puts out for all the residents, Feb. 13th is marked as A Sweetheart Breakfast.  So, I am watching the clock, let's see it's not quite 2 hours away. The staff is cooking us breakfast. We don't get our meals here (the apartments are independent 55+ living) so we like it when the staff treats us to goodies.

and as an added Random Friday Five (which will make it 6) I am sending you all my love and best wishes for Valentine's Day. I hope you will go over to visit Tanya and see other people's Random Friday Five.

Happy Valentine's Day to all my Blogger friends.

  6. What a lot encompassed in one short post! I do hope your Sis is improving well, and that she will thoroughly enjoy this milestone birthday---what an event this is, and how lucky we are to be blessed with our dearies to such a lofty age.

Hope you had a lovely breakfast---what a treat! I woke to the opening of our bedroom door---Chris was holding a platter with an identical one keeping warm the fabulous breakfast Caro had made for us when she got home from work. He was waving the top platter in my direction, wafting the sumptuous scent of bacon and eggs and her fabulous onion-smothered hash browns. She'd also brought home two pastries from work, so we had a Lucky Day Feast.

Were having our Valentine Brunch on Sunday, with a repeat of this morning's goodies, and more of her wonderful cooking, as well.

    You stay well and warm,

    rachel

  9. A lovely post, Mom! I called Aunt Lois early because I figured she's be too busy to take a call on Sunday. She was lying in bed resting; said she is still trying to get her strength back. It was so good talking to her. Hope you have a very special Valentine's Day! We are meeting the kids at Funtasticks later to celebrate L & his sister's joint birthdays (their bdays are a week apart). It has laser tag, and arcade games and putt-putt, etc.

  12. I was married on a Friday the 13th and many good things have happened on Friday 13ths so I look forward to them!
I talk to myself too and it's really embarrassing when my husband walks into the room and catches me!
You and your sister are so pretty! I hope she feels better. Sisters are wonderful, I have 3 younger than me that I wouldn't take anything for.
