A Perfect Independence Day Weekend

I just wanted to thank all of you for being my friend!!

I am feeling mighty blessed this Sunday morning. Yesterday was a good day. Son-in-law and daughter came over. Son-in-law installed me a big fancy new printer!!

It's WiFi connected so they tell me that I can now send a picture or document from anywhere (in the world, John said) and it will print from my new printer.
Lordy, what will they think of next?

I can sit out on the balcony, take a picture of the deer, send it to the printer and by the time I get into the house, I will have a copy in hand. WOW.

Our 4th was quiet. Leslie came over for supper (potato salad, baked beans, corn on the cob and sliced tomatoes and cukes)

Then we sat on the balcony waiting for the fireworks. Last year I could see them very well but this year most of them barely topped the trees. I did get three fairly decent pictures.

As you can see, they are a good distance away. But, at least we did not have to fight the traffic, sit out in the damp (storm approaching) air and swat at bugs.

We are headed to church this morning. A perfect way to end a weekend.

  5. Latane, I hate my photo printer and want to chuck it out - it's costing a small fortune to keep the ink supply going. Please tell me which one you bought and if it's good on ink. We also have a laser jet for printing b/w - that one is good.

What a lovely fourth you had. I too watched the neighbors' little fireworks display from the front porch - it was fun as Bob is away and I had no intention to drive to see the major fireworks show at the fairgrounds!!

    Happy day - Mary

  8. Your new printer sounds fabulous and fun... imagine the possibilities :)
Fireworks from your own balcony sounds perfect to me. There is something to be said for not fighting the crowds and traffic.

  9. Nice that you could see the fireworks! We saw some small ones being shot behind the house across the street...they were pretty sophisticated for backyard fireworks! Our company arrived that day and we cooked out on our Volcano stove, hamburgers and hotdogs. Such a nice new printer! I have an HP Envy 7645 and it's what I printed the photos onto fabric with for Russell's wall hanging. If you get online with HP Support you can tell them you are having trouble feeding the photo paper in, and get a response, chat online or even get them on the phone. I actually had them CALL ME after I tried to chat with one of their techs about the photo fabric (I wanted to feed the 8 1/2 x 11 sheets in and there's no way to do that from the photo tray but it wouldn't take it from the paper tray). ALL it was, was that I also had regular paper in the tray at the same time! When I took the paper out, the photo fabric sheets fed through just fine! He walked me through setting all my properties on the computer screen, etc and was so helpful! I'm sure your printer will take your photo paper, you just need to ask what you have to tweak to make it happen.
