Pictures from the Beach

I haven't finished telling you about my week at the beach, now have I? Well, this morning seems to be a great morning to do just that.

With artificial knees and diminishing balance I find it is just about impossible to walk on loose sand!! So, I wasn't getting any great 'beach' pictures. My daughter's sister-in-law asked me if she could take my camera out and take some shots for me and I was delighted. So.... just to let you know..... I did not take these pictures! Polly has such a fantastic eye for things, don't you think?

The next three pictures show the erosion done by Hurricane Joaquin which had hit the beach just the week before.

A view from the beach of the house we stayed in (Corolla, N. C.

It was such a wonderful week.

  2. I saw similar scenes along the Jersey shore and most just finished replenishing from Sandy. Sad.

  4. How nice to be there and enjoy those beautiful views, even if maneuvering on the sand is more difficult now. I have the same problem. Polly got some great pictures but I hate to know that this lovely beach had erosion from the storm. I love the sea oats and remember the warning signs from when I was a child not to pick them, or risk a steep fine.

  6. What a beautiful place. I'm sorry you couldn't get out on the beach. How nice to have a volunteer to take these wonderful photos. Sad to see the erosion.
