My time spent sketching, coloring, painting, whatever in the name of art, is a most enjoyable time for me. Sometimes they turn out well, sometimes they do not. But, regardless, it's just an expression of myself, in a way I know how. I am grateful to Alexandra for Sketches and to the team who hosts Paint Party Friday for giving us a place to meet each week, to share our endeavours and to make friends.
An oil I did in 1973 (sorry it's blurry, but it is an old picture and the only one I have of this)
A watercolor I did in 2017
A pastel I did in 2016
All your flower paintings are beautiful and make me want spring to hurry up and get here. (It's supposed to be like spring this weekend here in central VA, right?) I especially like the wonderful coloration in the tulip petals and leaves.

ReplyDeleteHello Latane, your florals are so pretty :D)
ReplyDeleteOh I really love these! I am so sorry you don't have a better photo of that early painting. You don't still have the piece? I've always thought it was one of your best. The pastel of the tulip is GREAT and I love the daffodil too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful flower paintings! So interesting how styles change over the years! Very pretty!
