Five on Friday

1.
and I am enjoying it. I have been sitting on my balcony (and it's not 8 a.m. yet) watching the osprey building it's nest. Life is good. So happy to have this NEW DAY!

 2. On our jaunt the other day, Shirley and I saw a huge water spray far in the distance (as we crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel) and we knew that vessel was traveling fast. Here is the picture I took of the U.S. Navy LCAC (Landing Craft Air Cushion). It's a personnel and cargo transport that can move on water or across the beach. Fully loaded it can travel at 46 MPH (or 40+ knots, if you are nautical). Empty, it can go up to 70+ knots and I think this one must have been. It is almost 90 ft. long. There were only 91 of them built (some are now owned by Japan and some discarded) I was thrilled to get to see it. The first picture is one I took. The second picture is from Wikipedia.

3. Yesterday it was in the mid 80s, sunny... a day for going to the Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield, Va. Yes, I know, I am not dressed for park wandering. We'd been out to eat lunch first!

4. It's just 8 days until the family spring vacation at Nags Head begins. I can't wait! Countdown !!

5. My great-grandson at bat playing T-ball.

  3. Wow what a view, great photos. The Chesapeake Bay ref reminds me of some books I once read by - Nora Roberts, called the 'Chesapeake Bay' series. Cathy x
