In A Pot!

I've always been sort of serious in my art work. Producing pictures that are true to nature and to life.

The theme for this week on Michael's Scribble Picnic is potted plants.

Here I am being 'serious' - pansies in a terracotta pot.

But, then I got adventurous with my colored pencils.. and here's what I drew. I asked on Facebook for suggestions of titles to that cartoon and added the best one of them to my sheet of paper.

Until next time I will just be "hopping and bobbing and singing my song"....

  2. this is lovely. I'm not much of a fan of pansies but you make them look good especially the yellow one.

cute cactus though he looks like he's yawing instead of hopping and bobbing.

    have a lovely day.

  4. Ha-ha! I'd be saying OUCH if I was hoppin' and bobbin' in a cactus. I've got little prickly bits I can't get out of my fingers because of the cactus I've been rescuing lately. Your pansy sketch is lovely. I'm definitely not serious when it comes to sketching ... really just having fun doodling. :)

  5. Latane,
I love both your pictures. Your pansies are excellent and love how you put the yellow one up - and the complementary purples ones down below. And your cactus - you had me laughing and bopping.

We winter in Arizona and our little birds always flitted up and down from the feeder to the agave plant and sit on the top sharp tip. Never understand how they can go in and out of all the sharp plants with not a problem. I go close and get pricked!! We loved watching them every morning while we ate breakfast.

    Blessings,
    Janis

  11. Aww...Latane, so great to have you on our Picnic this week and with that funny cactus one and the amazing yet more serious pansies drawing atop! Wonderful work!! Love them. Thank you for adding these to our "plant swap," as it were.

BTW, I have been replying to people on my blog so you can go there for that. :)
