The Blue Heron

                                                                   PAINT PARTY FRIDAY

and now I will add

The above Blue Heron visits the pond across the street from my apartment often. Since I live on the third floor and my balcony is in full view, he has gotten to be a source of entertainment for me. The following five photos were taken day before yesterday just before dark as he came for his evening meal.

He's caught something for his dinner. It could be a fish?

Nope, it's a big, fat juicy frog

He's trying to swallow it.

He turns this way and that, putting up a fight to hang on to that frog.

I don't know who won the battle. But, it certainly was entertaining to say the least.

  6. Latane, you are so talented. Do you keep your drawings and paintings in a file or do you have them hanging in your apartment? The pictures of the heron were very good. Have a Blessed day.

  12. The life and death battles that go on just beyond your door! That frog is wearing quite the expression especially in the first photo! Good capture for you as well as the heron. I saw a heron yesterday standing in the lily pads along the river. I wanted to stop and look closer, but I wasn't driving.

  22. If you must know, Latane, I felt rather sorry for the frog's demise, but then most every living thing can be dinner.
