Michael's backyard is a delight to spend some time there. I just love the peace and quiet, the many things that come to visit. I wanted to share them on a couple linkys today, namely Saturday Critters and Camera Critters
I can't identify many butterflies. I know the swallowtails. They are easy but the rest... I have no clue which this one is. Would someone educate me, please? He's such a beauty. Looks like Fall.
And, sparrows are just sparrows to me. They all look alike but I did I D this one. It's a Chipping Sparrow and was in my son's back yard. I love seeing new species that I haven't seen before.
Everybody knows the Red Bird - Cardinal. They are so distinctive.
I usually see doves on the ground but here was one, high up in a tree at the edge of Michael's yard. Zoomed in to shoot him. There were many more nearby under the feeder but I liked this shot best.
So, that's it for this Saturday morning. I need to get up from this computer, get my day chores done and get ready for some SEC football. Auburn plays first, then Alabama. Of course, Alabama is my #1 team but I root for any in the Southeast Conference. Roll Tide.
Hello, lovely capture of the butterfly. Your butterfly looks like the Pearly Crescent. The birds are pretty too. Thank you so much for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful butterfly! I see them sometimes and actually was able to take a photo of a small orange one on my hummingbird feeder last year but usually they are not stationary long enough for me to get a photo! I miss your pretty swallowtails on your Virginia hedge...lobelia, right? Gorgeous shots of the Chipping Sparrow, Cardinal and dove too! Enjoy that yard!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures. I do not know anyone who doesn't love birds and butterflies. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteStopped by your blog for the first time, and certainly enjoyed seeing all the birds and the butterfly. I live in Tennessee and am a big SEC fan as well. Perhaps we can become blog buddies. I am 77 years old, married, have 3 grown children, and 6 grands. I am a retired RN and Nationwide Inurance Agent. I love to read, compute and spend time with family and friends and my church is very important to me. Blessings....Linda
ReplyDeleteI feel relaxed just reading your post and seeing the birds today.
ReplyDeleteRoll Tide, indeed! I lived for several years in Alabama when my husband was stationed in Anniston. Great times!
ReplyDeleteNice collection of critter photos! That butterfly is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThere are too many butterflies to ID them! Lovely photo series!
