The Royal Wedding

What little girl hasn't wanted to become a princess?  All the pomp and circumstance, the protocol, the glamor and adoration, the dressing up in gossamer gowns not to mention the magic of it all.

I tevoed the wedding. You think I was gonna get up at 4 a.m. royal wedding or not? Nope. So at 8 when I dragged myself out of bed, I turned on the tv and started watching for Kate. What was her gown like? I thought it was elegance and simplicity befitting a princess. Would they kiss on the balcony? Yep, the Prince kissed the Princess.

No, Alice did not become a princess when she fell down the Rabbit Hole but she met a Mad Hatter... Oh, those hats today. Some so beautiful and some you wonder how in the world they stay attached to the top of the head in all that wind.

I felt a little let-down as the show came to an end. And, then DD Shirley called to say that she and I were having lunch with bff Kate. We do often and did not expect anything out of the ordinary. However, she had us a table on the porch at the Smithfield Inn where a Royal Wedding Celebration was going on. Harp music filled the air. A fashion show was going on.

There were fresh flowers on the tables. The menus were elegant

and each dish was named for a royal person. I ate the Lady Diana Fried Green Tomato BLT and some pasta salad. So, delicious.

I didn't mind a bit that I didn't get an invitation to the BIG event in London. Friends, family and good food are better than a wedding anytime.
