Books or Bowl Games?

This morning I sat down to post about the football bowl games. I do like love my college football!! But, first I started looking at blogs on my sidebar, catching up with my friends, seeing what they've been up to and was intrigued by a post by Rose Colored Glasses. She had linked to a 'books you have read' post on The Nester. So, my train of thought changed tracks... I've read 55 books since I got my Kindle last year for Christmas and I sure am not going to bore you to death with reviewing all 55 books. I am linking to The Nester, as well.

                                               (this was written by the doctor who attended him as he lay dying.)

                                              (even though there were a couple 'embarrasing' moments I loved the book)


                                              Incidents in the Life of A Slave


                                              Thunder Dog
                                              (true story of a blind man whose dog led him out of the Twin Towers )


                                              Free Air
                                                       (I enjoyed this book by Sinclair Lewis)


                                              Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy
                                                       (I knew so little of WWII so this book taught me of the
                                                         horrors through the story of Bonhoeffer and his courage)


                                             Ketchup is a Vegetable: and Other Lies Moms Tell Themselves 
                                                      (written by a woman who grew up in my hometown- I did not know her.
                                                        A funny twist on the everyday trials of raising three small daughters)


                                             A Knight in Central Park
                                             (this fantasy book was a complete turn in time frame for me)


                                             The Life of Mrs. Robert Louis Stevenson 

                                             Sisters
                                             (by Kathleen Thompson Norris)

                                             The Help
                                              (this is a wonderful book)


My favorite?  The Help, of course, but second would probably be The Life of Mrs. Robert Louis Stevenson. It made me want to travel to tropical places with all the books the Stevensons wrote and just lounge on a hammock under a palm tree reading them all.
