Honking Geese

Do we take time to really see the world around us?

Probably not... not unless we are blogging on Our World Tuesday or Barn Charm .

Just click on the links to see what the world looks like in other places. As for my world I'll start out with this interesting 'barn'.  Actually it is an equipment building, not your ordinary barn.

Daughter Shirley and I were out on a little excursion in search of barns. She was driving, I was snapping pictures. The reason this building caught our eye was the sound of honking geese as we drove by.

They were busy eating and weren't too happy about having their meal disturbed.

This goose stared at us. 'How dare you stop here', she honked at us.

'You aren't leaving?  We'll see about that because here I come', she honked as she waddled toward us.

We quickly rode off down the road. We decided we have no desire to be attacked by a goose!!

  5. I wonder if that 'equipment shed' used to be used for roadside sales of fresh products from the farm. We used to stop at such things when we would travel cross-country as kids.

  9. Like the picture of the equipment barn. I have seen many of them and they were always filled with farm machinery. You made me laugh tonight, Latane....I was feeling a little down because this is the anniversary of my Mom's death. Thank you bringing me out of it.
You know I love your posts.

Hope you had a wonderful day.

  10. Geese can be quite aggressive. There's a wonderful photo of my ex's dad, an avid photographer, being chased by a goose. He took it in stride and laughed about it.
I think the elephant reaching through a photo hole in a fence in Africa bothered him more. It was trying to grab his precious camera with its trunk!
The equipment barn has character too and they're necessary. :>)

  17. Glad to see that there's still so many working farms that need a place to shelter farm equipment. And what is it with aggressive geese? I've been following Facebook accounts of a goose attacking PBS employees in FL. Perhaps she disagrees with their political views? :-)
