Barns

                                                                Some old Barns

On the left top of this mosaic is a photo of a gentleman feeding his goats. This man was my husband's great-uncle. His father had come from Germany through Pennsylvania and the son had settled in Alabama. I love having this picture.

My husband's great-great grandad was Lewis Copeland. The brick house was built before the Civil War with the slaves handmaking the brick. I believe the barn is much older but it was so exciting to find both house and barn still standing in the 1980s.

  9. Thanks for visiting my blog. I too love old photos depicting family from long ago. Unfortunately where my dad's family all farmed is long gone and built up with big expensive homes.

  10. Great pictures! I love the one of your husband's great uncle feeding the goats - and the shadow of the photographer (obviously a woman in a dress)!
