A Trip to Epcot Center

FLORIDA is being featured on Memories By The Mile  this week. I haven't been to Florida in awhile so I am digging into my archive of photos to see what I can find. There ought to be some old pictures around here somewhere..........hmmm..... yep, here we are.

It was October of 1982 and Epcot had just opened at Walt Disney World. My sister, brother-in-law, Mom and I took off from Alabama to see the big new exciting park. And, we did the park proud!

Isn't this a great picture of my Mom in front of the sphere?

and a view much closer.

on our trip back toward home we stopped at an orange grove. There's me and Mom picking away!
Who in the dickens is that skinny gal on the right? hehe

We saw the show at Sea World (and didn't get splashed!)

Mom loved feeding the squirrels at Silver Spring.

Mom loved to travel. These pictures bring back such wonderful memories of when we were in Florida together.

I am also linking to Outdoor Wednesday

Happy Traveling to you,

  1. That sounds about like the trip that we took about that time and we visited some of the same places! Loved Silver Springs and the glass-bottomed boats!

  3. OH how neat... I know that these photos bring back so many great memories.. That's about the same time that my family went to Disney/Epcot. In fact, I'm not even sure that Epcot was opened at all when we were there. It's been many, many years...

  4. Ahhh....the memories. Memories are made. Pictures are taken and stored in boxes and albums. It is refreshing to see your photos of Epcot with your mom. What a special time and year that was.

  6. Sweet memories! I know it was a very special trip for all of you. That Grandmother deserved to see as much of the country as possible. I'm glad she took some trips!

Isn't it funny how the photos from "back then" are so fuzzy and inadequate! :-) I mean, we just pointed and shot with those cheap little cameras. Life is better, photo-wise, now, that's for sure! :-)

  10. I remember that sphere, the only time I've been to Epcot was in 1989, and have never gone back. Hope to visit again!
