Shirley Anne's Bake Shoppe

Many of you know that my daughter, who lives next door to me, has an in-home bakery. Christmas time is the busiest time of the year for her. The aroma in her house is heavenly. I thought you might like to see a small portion of what she's been up to since Thanksgiving.

620 snowflake cookies. Each one is hand decorated.

My granddaughter with the boxes that will hold 600 elf hat cupcakes.

There is what the cupcakes looked like.

This is part of the gingerbread orders. She made 55 large ones (pictured above) and is in the process of making 150 smaller ones.

Shirley making Christmas cookies in Martha Stewart's Omni-Media test kitchens in New York City. The cookies were featured in Stewart's Dec. magazine last year.

Next week the bakery will crank out 2,000 of these Christmas sugar cookies.

Canon Enterprises ordered the elf cupcakes and 620 of these etch-a-sketch cookies. I wondered what an etch-a-sketch had to do with elves but was told it was in the 'Elf' movie. I didn't know!

                                                            820 brownie squares

How does she do it, you might ask. She has a husband who does numerous chores to help out and two very capable assistants............
                                                         her daughter and son

                                                                                        Merry Christmas

  2. She is so talented. I think if I were surrounded by such beautiful sweets, I'd weigh 500 lbs! I always look forward to my mother/daughter baking day before Christmas. Looks like you could have those days all year round.

Had a nice service for Dad Adams yesterday --and got to see many old friends and family members. We also enjoyed a family lunch together. Dad is in a better place now… Thanks be to God.

  11. SOOO proud of Shirley! Isn't it amazing how baking and decorating has touched our lives, especially so with her, and now with Yvonne. I have some birthday cake pictures to post soon! :-) By the way, your great-grandson had a sweet celebration. Loved the jeans and we ate at Applebees! :-) Thanks, Mom!

  12. Wow... how impressive! I've always wondered how a bakery can make so many goodies and keep them all fresh when there are so many orders during the holidays. Happy Holidays Latane!

  13. Seeing those lovely gingerbread your daughter have baked makes me want to order some! Haha! Anyway, I’m curious if she takes bulky orders. If so, I think it’ll be best if she finds a new and bigger place for her bakery. At least, they could have enough storage for the goodies they make.
