Second Leg of Trip

Traveling south...

and the sky is dark. Rain is threatening. I don't think I have ever seen so many colors of clouds in one small spot before. Just count them. There's blue sky and white, light grey, dark grey and black clouds. I just had to take a picture.

The welcome center at the Alabama line (route I85) was a delightful sight. We were on Alabama soil once more. The attendants were so friendly but southern people just tend to be that way.

Aren't these elephant ears just beautiful?

Daughter Shirley is a huge Auburn fan and had not been there since the mid '70s. So, we drove through the campus so she could reminiscence a bit.

And, on to Montgomery to visit my sister.

After a brief overnight visit with my sister, we two girls headed north.

  2. Love the clouds shot, Mom, and yes, those elephant ears are just beautiful! I remember when we were kids and we'd start singing "Alabama Here We Come" when we hit that state line! :-) Pics of you and Aunt Lois and Shirl are great! Love the pretty (rug?) behind the couch at Aunt Lois's. I know this trip was awesome!
