Old Stairwell

Over the years I have taken Amtrak many, many times. I've ridden from California to Alabama and back again. I've gone west to Nebraska. And, I take the train  to visit my daughter and her family who live in New York.

I have a love affair with trains!!

You sit there watching the world zip by your window. No traffic snarls, no red lights, just relaxing and enjoying. That, to me, is the way to travel.

On one such trip the train pulled into Union Station in Washington, D. C. for an engine switch. I was sitting there staring out the window and this thing caught my eye. It appears to be an old ramp of some sort or a stairwell. And, why they did not haul it away to the dump is beyond me. But, it certainly made an interesting picture.

If you like old things then hop on over to Rubbish By Roan  You won't be disappointed.

  4. HI There, I have a love affair with trains also. My Dad worked for the railroad and we traveled by train (the old trains before Amtrak) to so many places. I even road the train back and forth to college.... LOVE trains.

I'm so sorry for not getting around sooner. It's been a sad week with a death in our family. Not much time for blogging.
