Raggedy Ann

Today is Vintage Stuff at Rubbish By Roan where you can post any picture of old things.

I thought today I would do a post on a childhood memory of mine.

And, I still have that book! Can you believe it?

Through all my travels, living in so many places and all these years that book is still intact.

Let's see, I am 80. My Aunt Lena gave me  that book when I was about 5. Gee,  that book is nearly as old as I am!

Do you have a favorite book  from your childhood? I'd love to hear about it, if you do.

  1. What a keepsake! The local art museum now has an exhibit on Golden Bools, I should get myself over there. Tom The Backroads Traveller

  2. You missed my Willy Nilly two weeks ago when I wrote about Marcela Gruelle! I thought about you (and this book) as I wrote it. It made me want to make more Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls...maybe some time next year when I dig out from under all the fleece and other stuff! :-) This is such a priceless treasure, Mom, and I am so happy you kept it all these years! And you are so cute...I have that photo on my livingroom wall!

  3. I personally don't have a favorite book as a child...but I do recall my kids' favorite book...they had me reading it to them all the time. It was a Hallmark book that my daughter still has...Lamont the Lonely Monster.

  6. What a wonderful keepsake! I remember that my aunt made me a Raggedy Ann doll when I was about 5. :) I kept it for a lot of years but somewhere along the way it was lost in a move.

What a sweet picture of you as a little girl. :)

Thanks for stopping by to comment on my Rubbish Tuesday post.

  12. Wow, I amazed you have been able to hang on to that book for so many years. I don't know that it is my favorite book, but the most memorable book was called Sid of Tar Paper Shack.

  14. Hi Latane, My computer has been out of whack for awhile and then it went to be repaired last week. It is wonderful that you have the book that you loved as a child. Mine were : The Bobbsey Twins On a Bicycle Ride. The Bobbsey Twins book in in surprisingly great shape. I wrote in it when I received it. "This book belongs to Sue A. Gray. It was given to me at Christmas 1956 from Grandma and Grandpa K". I also loved "The Water Babies Circus". That is a very old book and not in very good shape. I always wanted to be one of those little water babies!
