I ran across this meme and thought what a great idea. It's called Wit And Wisdom . You choose a picture that you have taken, then write a story to go along with it. Since I write, I thought what a great outlet for my creative thoughts.
But, let me tell you what's funny. I had already made up my mind I was going to participate in Wit and Wisdom when I get an email from my oldest daughter, Marie, over at A Colorful World telling me that's she has found this meme called Wit and Wisdom that she already has a post done. Talk about like minds thinking together.
Anyway, Here is my photo and story

Anyway, Here is my photo and story
Winter was coming and coming fast. Sam knew that he had been very bad all summer long, playing in the park when he should have been burying nuts. Mama was so angry with him. She had given him a lashing with her tongue this very morning. He'd half listened, ashamed that he had been a very bad squirrel. Then he'd scampered off in the direction of the pecan tree.
There was no one in sight. He'd made sure of that. He decided he'd scamper about the yard and see what he could find. The pickings were mighty slim. He realized that his pals had probably spent their summer gathering the nuts, while he had been off running through the grass and up and down trees. Finally he saw it! There was a big shiny pecan hiding just under the leaves. He ran to get it. Mama would be so proud.
He ran through the yard and jumped up on the fence to gain access to the tree where home was when suddenly his tummy growled. With Mama so angry at him, he'd plumb forgotten about breakfast. He'd just take a bite out of that pecan. Surely Mama wouldn't notice just a teeny bit of it gone.
Soon the nut was all gone, every last tasty morsel. He leaped down and began scattering the leaves about in search of another nut. He couldn't return to Mama empty handed. Sam knew he was in big trouble once again.

Bloggers are so creative! I have just been visiting your daughter's blog and her quilting blog. She's very creative and talented. I loved that I found my little bluebird graphic there. It is fun to find a new-to-me blog where it is being used.
ReplyDeleteHope that Sam gets down to business!
Cute story, I love it! Sam better behave himself and get ready for winter. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Latane! I've always had a soft spot for the bad boys and so Sam stole my heart.

Oh what a wonderful story! And so perfect for the photo! I tended not to go toward something fanciful this time but may do so in some upcoming posts. Yours reminded me of Jupie and some other tales that you read as a child and shared with me later! Really enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteOh, that naughty squirrel! I think we all can relate to that feeling of joy in the summer and putting off those necessary tasks that need doing for winter! I enjoyed this fun little tale and it goes so well with the photo!
