Scrapbooking

                                                         I am an avid scrapbooker.
                                                                                   Do you scrapbook?
Are your pictures stored neatly in albums or are they thrown helter-skelter into a box somewhere?

I started doing Creative Memories scrapping in the mid 1990s. Let's just say that my expertise in preserving my memories has improved over the years. Thank goodness, for that. The first couple ones I did, the pages covered a lot of time frame but then I decided to devote one album to each year.

This is the main portion of my albums.

An example of my work...

I am running out of space to store them, don't you think? Whatever will I do?

Just keep making more albums. There'll be a place somewhere for them.

I do love to sit and thumb through the pages of any given scrapbook. Such memories.

I hope you are doing something to preserve your family photographs. (and for gosh sakes, write on the back who it is and when it was made)

Most of my albums are either blue or green. So, I am linking with BLUE MONDAY. Thanks Sally for hosting this meme.

  1. Your collection of scrapbooks is a true treasure, Latane! I have made several scrapbooks in the past. As a second grade teacher, I made one each year to share with my students and their families. Now that I am retired, it's time to catch up on my own scrapbooks! I have the books, the photos, a brand new papercrafting studio in our basement... and lots of ideas! So, it's time to get started! This is my first visit to your lovely blog. So nice to meet you! ♡

  2. Wow! I'm so impressed! It is something that I want and need to do! It is amazing how much more you enjoy the photos when they are in order and displayed correctly. You are an inspiration........maybe I'll get back to work on mine..:)

  3. Wow! This is indeed a treasure! I'm in the process of properly cataloging my postcards collection. The albums I have for them are also blue ;)

  4. Hi Latane,

I kept some albums--mostly from trips. When writing on the back, it's a good idea to use a pencil as ink sometimes bleeds through.

Isn’t it fun finding blues to share? Thanks for playing today.

Please come back and tell me what you think of my soap post.

    Happy Blue Monday!

  5. Beautifully kept memories. I used to keep albums when the kids were growing up, but they took up so much space. One day, in a minimalism/simplifying frenzy I did away with the albums (except major ones) and put most of our pics in separate envelopes. The intention is to categorize and display a few in one thick album, some in flip style frames, and the rest to keep in labelled shoe boxes. Has not happened yet. ;)
    Happy blues.

  6. No, I have never been into scrape booking. However, now that I am older, wish I had. Somethings, need to be documented.

  10. Such a nice Blue Monday...of course I missed out doing one this particular day. You are so right, because of my company, I got behind with you! I haven't started scrapbooking again as you know but I have this big project going trying to get my photos into picture boxes, all in the appropriate timeframes. That's at least a start, anyway! :-) It's a HUGE job...because I have so many! I asked Barbara while she was here to ID some people in a couple of photos, and one was Russell's Dad and his sister! :-) After she told me who they were I could see it! :-) She told me some great family stuff too that I wrote down. Loved your email this morning...will answer soon!

  11. I'm a wanna-be scrapbooker! I have a couple albums and a ton of materials to use. My photos are stored by year or event in photo boxes. I intended to use those for scrapbooking, then read not to use the originals, make copies. Then the digital age arrived and now I need to print the keepers.
