I Was Just Wondering

This isn't much of a post but rather some questions I have on my mind.

1. How do you view my posts?
My daughter mentioned to me that because she has a laptop she has to scroll back and forth to
read across my page. I happen to have a large monitor and supposed, I guess, that everyone did.
So, I have reduced the width of my page somewhat. I hope that helps you in viewing everything.

2. Does changing my header confuse you?
I love making headers!! I know, I'm a wee bit weird!! I have a whole bunch of them that I want
to use so I change them often. Is it a problem?

3. Position of my gadgets.
When I took my sidebar off (in one of my wild, crazy idea days) I put my gadgets at the bottom
of the page. If you havcn't followed me, you will find that gadget there.

4. Followers
I sort of judged 'how well I was liked' by how many followers I had. Don't know why,
I told you I was weird. However, I got to checking out my google followers one day, one by one and
discovered that so many of them are no longer blogging or never visit my blog. So, that's no
barometer! Great reason to just eliminate that list.

5. Blog list vs. Following list
I took my blog list off my gadget sidebar. I used to use it to check out people's blog when they posted something new but realized that the list was just a small portion of whom I follow. So I have started going into my
follow list that is on my design page to visit those friends who have posted recently. It works for me,
     what works for you?

Okay.... I hope this answers a few questions I have had. Sometimes it's just hard to know exactly
how to handle things. Best way is to ask, right? Have a great weekend.

  1. I have never had any problems viewing your posts. They display just fine on my laptop screen. Header changes are fine with me every once in awhile. If your gadgets are on the bottom of the screen, I don't generally see them, but what I really want to see anyway is your posts, so it's not a big deal. I prefer for blogs to have Google Followers up, because that is what I follow with, and it's a lot easier to just click follow than have to manually add a blogger to my follow list. I generally don't pay attention to blog lists in people's sidebars.

Your new format looks great! Keep up the good blogging!

  2. No problems viewing your posts. I enjoy the change of headers, too. I use my blog list to access your blog since I have it set up to show most recent posts. I keep that list current with the blogs I read.

  3. I agree with Marcia above. However, as Bethany mentioned, I rarely go to the bottom of any blogger's screen. I find it easier to see the blog roll, etc. on the sidebar. I find myself a bit disappointed when my number of followers decrease, but honestly, I follow a lot of blogs I never look at. So I agree, the number of followers really doesn't mean a lot. I've had several bloggers tell me they are cutting down on blog posts and spending more time on Facebook because it takes less time than blog reading. It will be interesting to see what the next social media trend will be. I'm not into Twitter or Instagram so I suppose I'm already behind in the times.

  4. Your blog always loads up quickly with no delay and I LOVE the headers!! Yours is actually the cleanest blog around!!! However, the list where it shows your posts would be handy if we were trying to find a post we may have missed. I use my side bar blog following to visit but I also use the list on my dashboard. By the way, I love your pretty green background! So nice and fresh!!

  5. Width has always been fine to me---pictures well-placed, and paragraphs neat.

Always love seeing your new arrangements and ideas.

Don't look at followers much, except when a new one (seldom) pops up on my own list.

I've enjoyed your blog list, and have popped in on some lovely blogs that way. I certainly enjoy seeing recommendations, as it were, and will miss "traveling through" via you.

My only-ever oddity with your blog is that any comment goes through just fine, but then I get an e-mail with the comment all garbled like shaken scrabble tiles, with the first sentence: "This post failed to send. Check your etc. etc. etc." But they've always already appeared on here. Strange. Must be our computers not shaking hands properly.

And I certainly like seeing YOU pop up on my own sidebar, with your posts---like just now. Happy Tuesday to YOU!

  7. I have no problems viewing your blog either. I do know when my friends with iPads view my blog it is difficult to read.
I love changing my header too so that is fine with me.

You're right about that blogging list I might remove mine too.

  8. I view blogs both on my desktop AND my cellphone. I have no problem viewing your blog. But the confusing part for me is TO FIND your blog. Thru your profile link when you leave me a comment, it goes directly to your Google Plus page and your recent posts are not listed. I can't find a place to leave you a comment. Today, I went through Marie's blog to find your blog link!! Otherwise I wouldn't be here.

I always appreciate your visiting, and I will get your URL while I'm here to grab and copy and paste in my blog list so I can easily find you from this day forward.

    1. Was reading Mom's comments and noticed this one...if anyone gets connected back to Google+ you have to find the "About" pagemark and click on it to find a list of blogs at the bottom of that page. I have NO IDEA why they made it that hard to find the person's blogs, but that's what you have to do.

  10. Very pretty here! Assuming that you are looking for specifics and not just generalities with the following responses, though I may have gone too far. ☺

    1. How do you view my posts?

Either on a laptop or an iPad...more likely on the iPad. I can adjust the screen as needed either way. I need the font to be larger so I just adjust for that.

    2. Does changing my header confuse you?

Not at all! I like making headers and changing them, too. I prefer blogs that way as I am not fond of the static headers that so many use these days, though I suppose that it is less confusing when the same one is used all the time. The thing that confuses me most is if the name of the blog doesn't appear in the header or if the profile photo is not readily available.

    3. Position of my gadgets.

I have some in both places. I figure that if they are meant to be found, they will be. Ha!

    4. Followers

Hmmmm...interesting. I have never tried that and, to be frank, never will, but I have thought of eliminating the feature as it has been so depressing to have g00gle come in and wipe out so many. I didn't have them for the first three years they were available and I'm sure that I could easily go back to that. Who needs the ever diminishing status symbol? Oh, but just because someone is no longer bloggind doesn't mean that she doesn't use the feature I suppose.

    5. Blog list vs. Following list

I do not use that feature and truly hate it for many reasons. Too many to go into. I have a separate blog for those whom I visit regularly. I follow thousands. As you say, it means little and I don't regularly visit all those whom I follow; however, if on my blog roll, one can expect a visit from time to time.

I really have enjoyed peeking around here and seeing the changes.

  11. Good questions - I like the changing header - I think it should be easy to find your 'follow' gadget - I put all the blogs I follow on my side bar to make it easy to read them, but it is a personal preference, I think. The most important thing is to visit, visit, visit and especially if someone leaves a comment. xx K

  12. I think your blog is looking great & I love the new headers. I can read the page just fine now that you've reduced the size. Thanks! :-)
