Five On Friday

I haven't seen much of the doe lately so I assumed that she and the fawn had moved on to "greener pastures". But, then I saw a brown spot on the other side of the pond. It moved. I grabbed my camera. Guess what!! The fawn was out by itself, munching away. I wonder where the doe is? I hope she isn't hurt or worse.

Leslie and I had lunch at Wharf Hill Restaurant in Smithfield yesterday.
I'd been once before, he never had, so it was fun introducing him to that great food and atmosphere. We shared some fried oysters but chose our own veggies... his was fried green tomatoes, mine was roasted red potatoes and steamed snow peas. All was excellent. Oh, and while you are at it... check out our new 'Out to Lunch' blog HERE

The gardens here at the Commons (my apartment complex) are really growing. This photo was taken a bit back but aren't those veggies looking tasty?

When my daughter and grandson were visiting recently, I got this great shot of two of my daughters.

When my daughter was visiting she loaned me a book to read.
It's "32 Yolks" by Eric Ripert, the world-renown chef. A really good read. He certainly had his struggles in life but his determination to succeed was very admirable. I got a whole new perspective on the 'Never Give Up' saying.

  13. So glad you got such a nice photo of your daughters, and an interesting book to read from one. It is lovely you saw the fawn again, and that your nearby garden is flourishing. When my adult children were hiking recently they came upon a fawn that was curled up out in the open on a hot day. They thought it was in trouble at first, then were so glad that it eventually hopped up and galloped to the shade. It is fun to find a good, new to you, place to eat, isn't it and your meal out sounded yummy, too. :)
