Friday

And, where did this week go, may I ask?

It's Friday again.

And, it's meme time. Why do all my favorite memes fall on Friday?

                                                              REFLECTIONS

I'll start off with Reflections. I took this picture when I visited the Asia exhibit at Norfolk Botanical Gardens back in April. Everything was made of silk stretched over wire frame. Note, they have these water flowers up above the water so that precious silk won't get wet. I wonder if it ruins the fabric if it rains. Probably not since the exhibit was there for weeks.

SWEET AND SIMPLE FRIDAY

Having s'more's in the backyard with my great-grandson. Linking with Simple and Sweet Friday

AND MY FRIDAY FIVES

1. I am so excited that a cold front is moving in. The heat index has been near 100 for the past few days and I don't do well in the heat.  I have a James River Cruise coming up on Tuesday. Yippee, the weatherman says the high that day will be 80.

2. I've been identifying and dating my printed pictures. I have boxes of them so it's a big task. I have about 90% done now. Why don't we just do that chore when we print them? DUH

3. I recently went to O'Doodle Doo's donut shop. I love cake doughnuts. You see why I can't resist that place?

4. I need to get my car serviced. Why do I put that off? I sort of think that that is a man's job. But, I have no man!! So, off to the car dealer I go to have old Betsy oiled and greased and her tires rotated.
I have had her since 2005. Love her. Hope she lasts as long as I am able to drive.

5. I am so happy that new programs are due to start this next week on televison. I am so tired of all that old junk that runs in the summertime.

Have a great weekend!!

  1. Oh, my heart just melted when I saw that smores picture! How much he has grown! And he sure misses you! I loved those wonderful paper flowers when you posted them before. Glad you re-shared this one for reflections. Sweet shot of you and Dad with the car. Glad the cold front is moving in...can't wait to hear about your cruise! Love you!

  2. Hadn't heard of that cold front. We should get it here in MD if you are to get it in VA. Very hot this weekend! Have a good one and stay cool.

  3. What marvellous colorful paper flowers! Enjoy them on your photo, wish I could visit this place and have a yummy donut... Riding a car is such an useful thing (I cannot, my eyes are too bad), hope, you can it still for a long time. Good luck and cooler weather for the cruise :-)

  4. I'm jumping up and down (in my mind at least) waiting for that cold front to show up too. I agree it's a man's job, but did it myself too when I was single for a time in the 90's. Life doesn't get any better than grandchildren does it?

  6. You are doing a good job taking care of your car. I have just begun to think about that added chore along with lawn mowing, garbage running, and snow shoveling...just thinking ahead with that one.

Have a lovely time on your excursion!

  12. Sweet photo of you with your grandson Latane, and your photo at the garden is beautiful. I would have loved to see this exhibit, so colorful! I am looking forward to the cooler weather also. How wonderful that you are going on a river cruise. That should be a lot of fun. I have many, many, many old photos I need to start dating. Your comment reminded me that it is an important task that needs to be done. We don’t have O’Doodle’s up here but when we head to Virginia Beach we always go to Krispy Kreme. My favorite is the custard filled chocolate covered doughnut. Yum! Your car looks as good as band new. The TLC is showing :) It will be nice when the new TV season starts. I’m looking forward to a few returning shows. A fun read, enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

  14. Hi there...I'm visiting from Amy's blog. I love the picture from Asia. It's beautiful. There was a time in my life when I was single, that I was thinking of opening a place where you could go to get your car worked on and I was going to be honest! I always told my Shug that women get ripped off at places like that, and then I proved it! Another story for another day!
My Shug brought home a dozen donuts. I haven't touched one of them as I'm trying VERY HARD to lose a few pounds. I have a trip to Mexico next June and I desperately need to lose this belly! Enjoyed visiting your blog...and I LOVE cake donuts....those look yummy.
