It's been awhile but after a week of feeling down and out and "older than mud" I felt it was time to remind myself and others of how blessed we are to still be kicking.
It's natural to feel old sometimes. Life just gets difficult. We clutter it up with mundane things.
So, here's some reminders.... for me and for you!
1. Fill up your space with things that make you happy.
Beautiful Flowers
Elegant Perfume
Pretty things
2. Do things that make you feel well.
Getting plenty of sunshine
A smile lifts the spirits of you and everyone around you.
Balance in your posture and in your life.
Eating a balanced diet.
Plenty of rest
and Exercise
3. Make time to do those things that give you joy.
Spend time with friends
Little ones always make me smile
I love my camera!
There's nothing better than a cup of tea and a good book.
And, don't forget traveling to new places
Those are some of the things that will keep us young, alert and active.
Hey, I think I am ready to give this ole life another shot in the arm.
Let's see...
A book? Maybe a trip? New clothes?
How about you?
I know where you are coming from Latane! Some days are really tough especially if in pain, however like you, I try to see the positive in life and realize now that it's going to be what I make of it and there will be ups and downs along the way. Trying to be/feel youthful is hard going, and much of it requires a lot of energy and getting one's head around the complexities of the aging process. All the things you mention here are important - thanks for reminding me of some I've been lax about. We will be traveling soon and although it's an effort to get prepared to head overseas again, I know it will be fun and interesting to see new places, but of course I'll be looking forward to coming home again - I always do!
ReplyDeleteHang in there dear - you certainly look fabulous for your age - and I wish you no more days 'down in the dumps' for some time!
Happy Easter - Mary x

ReplyDeleteA beautiful reminder. We just have to climb out of the dumps when they slip up on us. Great photos! I especially like the one about getting enough sunshine and I think that is VERY important for me. Thank you so much, Latane. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteI just don't want to deal with this age thing.
ReplyDeleteLast year was good, now things changed. Guess
I am more then half way down the hill about to hit the dump.
Wonderful words of advice.
ReplyDeletewonderful post. I felt like that yesterday while getting ready to travel to visit a friend in White Stone Va. I looked in the mirror and just went -- aaaggghh.
ReplyDeleteWhere did the years go?
I got ready, took off and forgot all about myself and had a wonderful time with my friend. Really have to do things that bring us joy and be with people that do too.
You have a wonderful Easter

This is wonderful, Latane. And I love that yellow tea cup and saucer. I collect different tea cups, so this caught my eye right away. : ) You are a lovely woman.
