I loved Alexandra's sketch of the little boy with the straw hat. So cute.
Now, here's my entry for Sunday Sketches. Since I will be linking to Michael's blog, Scribble Picnic, on Wednesdays I am going to go with his theme each week. That way I will always have something to enter!
His theme for the coming Wednesday is books. So, here are my sketches.
This is a challenge for me. I've never been a sketcher. So, hang in there with me
A bookcase with favorite books in it.
then a bit of whimsey.. a bunny reading a book.
Last... a table with books

ReplyDeleteWell done with the book theme Latane, sorry I was thinking to visit Jennifer next in the SS lineup, and called you Jennifer, unforgiveable!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful book themed sketches! I love the bunny especially.
ReplyDeleteLovely "bookish" sketches. Can't tell you aren't a sketcher by looking at these!
ReplyDeleteLove your book sketches, Latane...very nice! I think the bunny is my favourite. :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the bunny sketch too.
ReplyDeleteGood work, Latane! I haven't done a sketch in a bit. I really enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sketches!!!
ReplyDeleteI adore that bunny with his glasses on, reading under the tree :)
I used to read my Nancy Drew books under a Willow tree when I was a child ~
Very nice, Mom. You have an interesting "cartoon" style when you do these minimalist drawings!
ReplyDeletegreat sketches !! my favorite is the little bunny...with his reading glasses!
ReplyDeleteLatane,
ReplyDeleteI never did much sketching - except for a quick outline before watercolouring. But I am working on it and find it fascinating. Now I have to use my imagination more. Great ideas.
isn't it great to be back at #scribblepicnic
Blessings,
Janis
'Favorite books' are hard to dispose of - one just wants to hang on to them forever! Ww all have those overstuffed bookcases. . . . . . .don't we?
ReplyDeleteLovely sketches Latane - so glad you are part of our 'picnic' Wednesdays.

I love all three....but I especially love the rabbit reading his book. Too cute. Nice sketches.
ReplyDeleteNice sketches. I wonder what the rabbit is reading so seriously?

DeleteOf course! :-)
DeleteI like the rabbit one, reading A'lice in Wonderland' is he? good choice. lovely sketches.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
I think your bunny with book is my favourite --so adorable and rather reminds me of my hedgie-- the could be friends! So glad you pushed yourself into illustrating and did a great job at it too, Latane. Thank you so much. Fun.
ReplyDeleteBTw, Latane, it's my MOTHER who died.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, how did I get that wrong? I am so sorry. It's tough to lose a Mom. I really feel for you and I hate so much that I made such a mistake. Love the fact that I now have a place to share what little I do and it is pushing me to try new things, try harder to be good. I thank you and Alexandra for that.

DeleteNo worries on parent. So glad you can join in and we love to offer a place for such. If you want to follow the specific theme, please keep it to Scribble Picnic on Wednesday so we keep continuity or if use Sunday Sketches on Sunday for anything general with Alex's art co-op. The idea is to keep them separate opportunities, fyi. :)
DeleteI like that you have reality and fantasy in your sketches. Makes the bunny reading all the more believable.
ReplyDeleteThese are all lovely sketches.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I enjoyed seeing your sketches, Latane, and while I am not a sketcher myself, I am very fond of doodling!
ReplyDeleteFun sketches. :)
