I Love Books

Sunday Sketches has been off the grid for a couple weeks due to Alexandra's father-in-law's funeral. Sad time I am sure. We are glad she and Michael are back home safe and sound.

I loved Alexandra's sketch of the little boy with the straw hat. So cute.

Now, here's my entry for Sunday Sketches. Since I will be linking to Michael's blog, Scribble Picnic, on Wednesdays I am going to go with his theme each week. That way I will always have something to enter!

His theme for the coming Wednesday is books. So, here are my sketches.

This is a challenge for me. I've never been a sketcher. So, hang in there with me

A bookcase with favorite books in it.

then a bit of whimsey.. a bunny reading a book.

Last... a table with books

  7. Wonderful sketches!!!
I adore that bunny with his glasses on, reading under the tree :)
I used to read my Nancy Drew books under a Willow tree when I was a child ~

  8. Very nice, Mom. You have an interesting "cartoon" style when you do these minimalist drawings!

  10. Latane,
I never did much sketching - except for a quick outline before watercolouring. But I am working on it and find it fascinating. Now I have to use my imagination more. Great ideas.
isn't it great to be back at #scribblepicnic
    Blessings,

    1. Oh dear, how did I get that wrong? I am so sorry. It's tough to lose a Mom. I really feel for you and I hate so much that I made such a mistake. Love the fact that I now have a place to share what little I do and it is pushing me to try new things, try harder to be good. I thank you and Alexandra for that.

    3. No worries on parent. So glad you can join in and we love to offer a place for such. If you want to follow the specific theme, please keep it to Scribble Picnic on Wednesday so we keep continuity or if use Sunday Sketches on Sunday for anything general with Alex's art co-op. The idea is to keep them separate opportunities, fyi. :)

  17. I like that you have reality and fantasy in your sketches. Makes the bunny reading all the more believable.
