Why is it that we do our laundry on Monday? Not everyone does, but I still do. I'm one of those oldsters sticking to tradition, I guess. So, I got up this morning and flung a bunch of clothes into the washer. I wasn't even dressed nor had I eaten my breakfast. I tell myself, 'It's best to start early'. ha ha like I have tons of wash to do. I mean there is only one of me. How dirty can one person get? Don't answer that.
In the long ago I would hang my clothes out on the line and let the air and sunshine dry them and give them that oh, so good aroma that you could just bury your nose into. There isn't a man-made product out there that can duplicate that sweet, fresh smell.
Laundry starts on Monday here too. Clotheslines have also been in our yard though not now. I too like hanging clothes on a line. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh Granny told me that she used to do hers on Mondays long ago but the last 2 years before she left us she did hers on Fridays. I am like you. I LOVE a clothes line. I need to get one! I haven't had one in years. I LOVE this post!!! And I love a trumpet vine too!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I remember the clothes line. Fun post.
ReplyDeleteGlad you came by for a visit.
I miss having a clothesline.....the sunshine leaves such a pleasant fragrance on the clothes.
ReplyDeleteI remember the embroidered dish cloths....haven't seen any in a long time....memories ... memories.
