Different Kinds of Barns

When I was small I loved to wander about the hay-strewn floor of my Grandpa's barn loft. The barn stood empty then but I did not feel lonely. It held many sweet memories for me... of my aunt milking the cows, my Grandpa sharpening a tool on the grinder in the lean-to shed. I love barns and that one was very special to me. I hope you have a barn in your past that you have enjoyed and loved. There are all kinds of barns. What is your favorite type of barn?

                                                         This one is TALL.

This one has a ROUND roof.

This one has been painted RED.

Here is a WHITE barn.

and this one is about to FALL down.

I have linked this post to BARN CHARMOUR WORLD TUESDAY and OUTDOORS WEDNESDAY. Clink on any of these links to enjoy other pictures from around the world.

  2. I love the barns. How do they make those round roofed ones anyway? The falling down one looks like it has eyes, nose and mouth.

  4. Hi Latane, I loved visiting my Grandpa and Uncle's farms and playing in the barns when I was a little girl. I spent many hours in the hay lofts, playing with kittens and reading books.

  9. Great pics!! I think I love the smell of barns the most, rather than the look. I like the feel of them too. The ones I've been in have been kind of musty and warm. You can smell the hay and animals. It's nice. ;-)

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I wish you the best in your writing! Give yourself time. Consistency is difficult and I struggle with it too.

  10. I like a red barn, and I loved reading the book....'Enchanted Barn' by Grace Livingston Hill. Ever read that one? It's delightfully old fashioned with a Christian tone. As I remember it...

  13. I like barns too but don't have any special memories of them. I love the photo in the previous post of the bride/groom haybales, that's a classic!

  14. What lovely barns. I like them ALL... including the one falling down! I was not one of the lucky little girls who grew up in the country, so I have no fun barn memories. Yours sound wonderful!

  19. Thanks for sharing your barn pics.
I remember climbing up in the loft of my uncle's barn and was afraid to go back down, as a cow that did not like children had wandered into the barn.
Thanks for stopping by and comment.
