Our Thanksgiving

I was invited to my daughter and son-in-law's house for Thanksgiving. It couldn't have been a more beautiful day... filled with sunshine, love, family, friends and food. So much to be thankful for! I hope that your Thanksgiving Day was a happy one, too. For those still suffering from the ravages of the hurricane in the northeast I pray that soon, very soon, you will be able to sit down at a table surrounded by those you love in a day of Thanksgiving.

The house smelled of pumpkin, ham, spices and hot bread. The decorations were right in keeping with the event...

tantalizing appetizers and pies awaited

After grace was said, we started filling our plates from the bounty of food on the kitchen island...

An hour later, tummies filled, stories related, dessert demolished the younger generation took their little ones out for a traditional touch football game on the lawn. These two of my great-grandsons are both 2 years old and already they are loving it.

V. on his way for a touchdown, whereever that is!!

Wagon pulling is part of football? Who would have guessed!!

Then the little ones get showered with fall leaves from Nana & Papa John's dogwood tree.

'Stick 'em up, Uncle Michael'.     D with a toy gun made out of a stick.

The Clan.... half my family was there. We take what we can get and we are thankful for that. My two children are standing just behind me on either side.

  1. Hello Latane, first of all, let me say how much I love your header! I have so many similar ornaments (bulbs or balls) to them. They were my mother's and my grandmother's. They are so pretty.

The picture of 1/2 of your clan is wonderful. What a great picture! So nice to have a rememberance of your 2012 Thanksgiving. Your whole family is pretty nice looking, too. You must be so proud of them all.

We were at my son and daughter-in-law's with my daughter and her family, too. Oh, it seemed so nice to be together. I was extremely thankful. I was asked to say the blessing this year and that made it even better.

I am thankful to be able to read your blogs. I enjoy them so very much. Thank you, Latane.
