Sunny Sunday Weather Vanes

Today is Sunday. I am headed, later on, to a birthday party for my great-grandson. The day is quiet, peaceful, a few cars driving by on Main Street. It is cold, gonna get colder they say. That's alright. I recently bought me a new coat and found my gloves that I had lost. So, I am set.

So, what is on my mind today besides the cold weather. How about weather vanes?  They watch out for our changing climate regardless of what happens. Here are three very different ones to share today.

I saw this rooster weather vane on my way back from Nags Head. Looks like that rooster is heading east.

This ship weather vane sits atop the Mariner's Museum in Newport News, Va. It is fantastic.

I think that this vane was also spied on my trip to the beach. A whale of a vane!

I've enjoyed visiting with all of you. Have a happy and sunny Sunday.

  2. The ship is my favorite, too! So unusual! Sometime I need to post an odd one I found.

  3. For some reason, this post made me think of Mary Poppins...is it because she came in when the wind changed directions and left when the weather vane showed the wind switched directions?

  4. These are just wonderful! You don'yt see them very often and it's so difficult to find really interesting ones. You hit the jackpot!

Have a good week, Latane - stay warm! You're going to need those gloves by tomorrow...
