On a drive two of my daughters and I took just 'poking' around one day in the snow-covered village of Greenwich, Ct. we came upon an estate that was humongous! A large iron gate was at the end of a long tree-lined driveway.
This is my entry for Friday Fences. Thanks, Jan and Jer, for hosting this blog hop.
The entry gate. Notice the long drive. You can barely see the mansion sitting at the end of it. Looks a little like the White House, doesn't it?
A closer view of the house and trees.
A closeup of the gate.
What a shame we just missed lunch with our hosts. Perhaps next time. (grin)
An elegant fence and gate for a elegant house. Nice shots!
ReplyDeleteA great capture of contrasts and the estate certainly has very spacious grounds!
ReplyDeleteperfect. so decorative. & fun too!! ( :
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so old and proper! The gate itself lends an air of elegance. Looks like everything is very well maintained. Great post, Latane. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to mention your header and how it fascinates me. The bright, blue sky and the thin petals just intrique me....or is the PINK! I love pink.

Stately mansion with a very dignified fence to go with it.
ReplyDeleteIt DOES look like the White House! And look at those trees! Great gate, and house and trees. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such a strong gate. And there is just something about a tree lined driveway...I love them.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fence, I bet the line of trees leading up to the house is gorgeous in the spring/fall
