Do You Scrapbook?

I don't know when I started scrapbooking. Must have been in the later half of the 1990s but it's been a passion of mine ever since.

I like a more simple looking page. I see all sorts of pages other people do and it's hard to find the pictures on it. I don't like that. I do add some embellishments but simple is better for me.

Every time I am asked how many photobooks/scrapbooks I have made I have to stop and count them. It's a bunch! This is just the bottom shelf......

They all sit in an honored place in my sunroom where I can choose one at leisure and relive the past in it's pages.

I am all caught up. I finished 2012 a couple weeks ago so soon I will head to the developers and have some of my 2013 pictures printed off. And, I will start another book! I have a nice working area ready for me to begin.

Here are a couple more pages from my 2012 book.
How many of you scrapbook?
Have you made many scrapbooks?                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Do you like more simple pages like me or do you like the pages filled with all sorts of things as well as your pictures?

I'd love to hear from you to see what you have been up to............

  1. I agree...the simple pages look more classy. They don't detract from the photos, either. One day I'll get back to scrapbooking! One day....:-0

  2. Never have gotten into scrap booking. Just no time for another project like this -- you've really got quite a collection of memories there. :)

  3. I like your pages very much. It is easy to tell what each page is about. Confession - I bought a scrapbook, gathered the stuff to make the book and it is all in a box. Just not going to tell you how long it has been in that box - hanging my head as I type this. Yours is lovely, and quite frankly more inspiring than those over the top things that I have seen. Maybe that is why I never got started. Seeing those fancy pages is intimidating.

  4. I bought several books to make scrapbooks for each of my sons and even gathered up hundreds of pictures, but then life got busy and everything fell by the wayside. I like the way you keep your scrapbooks. You know at a glance what the pictures are about and their significance to you. Very nice job..... Candy

PS, I joined your blog, maybe I can get some more pointers before I start my scrapbooks.

  5. I am very impressed. You have done a great job of keeping up and it must be so rewarding to just pick one up and enjoy the memories!

    I've never done any scrapbooking.

  6. No, but I sure admire those who do. Organizing phtographs is an achievement. I'm swimming in a hundred plus years of family photos. I am overwhelmed!

Thanks for visiting and following. I am now following you, too.

  7. I used to scrapbook, but haven't been able to do much of anything lately. My mom has this scrapbook she had been keeping of newspaper cartoons. Goes back to the late 70's. I may start up again, it's fun and people enjoy looking through them.

  9. Hello Latane.....I love to Scrapbook. I can not say I have ever finished one because they are all on going. Christmases, Time at the Lake, and so on. Some are just family and fun. I don't like to jazz up the pages too much. I think it cheapens the effect. My favorite is my Family History Album....I am still working on that. That really has been a wonderful joy.....all those old pictures!

  11. Scrapbooking is a wonderful hobby! I've made a few for friends and relatives, but once I started making all my greeting cards (rubber stamping), I haven't taken time to scrapbook.
I agree that the simpler pages are the best!
It's nice that you keep all your books within easy reach; it's so enjoyable to look back through them!
