Is it Friday already? Where is the time going? True, I have been busy, very busy, with my move but I can't seem to keep up with the days.
I am linking up with Nancy at Random Five Friday. Well, I guess not this week. She is taking a break.
Here are my Five!
1. Why do we think we have to be surrounded by all this 'stuff'? Do we think it defines who we are? Or make us 'more important'? I am finding that it is just an albatross around my neck. So happy to be downsizing. My life is going to be so much easier.
2. When am I going to learn to keep my camera at arm's length? Huh? I was driving on a country road this morning and spied a flock of wild turkeys standing in the ditch beside the road. By, the time I could retrieve my camera from a bag in the back seat the turkeys had already made their way into a large field. I mean, those things walked right in front of my car!! A great shot lost just because my camera was in the back seat.
3. I always know that spring is finally here when I see purple henbit blooming in the pastures and fields. This small patch was beside an overpass (along with some white blossoms).
4. I was one happy camper yesterday. It was hot in the apartment when I went to look at it so I opened the sliding glass door to step out on the balcony. I heard the most amazing songs coming from a bunch of different birds in the trees nearby. And, there was a nice breeze blowing too. Loved it.
5. Number 5 is a Random thought and picture from my past.
April is Autism Awareness Month. Here I am dancing with my grandson, Owen, who has Autism. He turns 21 this month and will move into a residential home with other autistic young adults. I am so proud to be called his 'Grandma'. Do you have someone with autism in your family.... or do you know a family who does?

Your turkey shot is still great! :-) I know what you mean. I've missed so many pictures! :-) Oh, he's turning 21! It's hard to believe...so there is a good place for him to move. I am so glad! It's a busy time for every one in our family, apparently! Lots of changes and upheavals and new beginnings! Not us....we did all that three years ago. :-)
ReplyDeleteSo true about the camera being close, but that is still a wonderful picture. My youngest grand is autistic...high-functioning and doing well thanks to early intervention and an intense three-year program every day of the year except for holidays. He is now mainstreamed in a "regular" classroom. We think he is amazing and I know that you think your very tall, handsome grandson is as well. All the best to him with his move and yours!
ReplyDeleteI have a shot like your first one, only I haven't sorted through it for giveaway! I did get rid of some glassware and cups this morning! I'm trying to declutter, too! I've missed a few shots because the camera was not readily available. A friend of mine says when that happens, just say "click" and enjoy the moment! I'm loving the breezy cool day we're having after a rather stormy night!

ReplyDeleteWe saw wild turkeys the other evening, and the tom was strutting. I did get a pic and shared it on my R5F. My camera is almost always under my seat in the car!

Henbit--I've never heard of it, but now I know what I see growing all around the neighborhood! I'm also enjoying the birdsong. It's been quite musical around here, too. I have a nephew with Asperger's, a form of autism.
