Progress on my book 'Springtime in Magnolia'

It's a quiet Sunday morning. I was just reflecting back on my busy week, my excitingly busy week. What's been happening in your neck of the woods? I hope it was fun and productive. Is that an oxymoron? fun and production. Oh well, you know what I mean.

I haven't mentioned the book 'Springtime in Magnolia' that I have been writing, in quite awhile. I figured you all had gotten tired of me whining about it taking so long to get the finally editing done and get it to the publisher. There was little to report... And, one of my biggest problems was my lack of expertise in the use of Microsoft Word. I had a glitch come up on several pages of the manuscript that I could not get rid of. Come to find out my design team at Createspace could (and did) take care of in the blink of an eye. Duh....

But, Ta Da, there's news at last. My design team at Createspace Publishing Company has my manuscript in their 'loving' little hands. That's like turning your child over to strangers and praying for the best! I relate the whole writing process to being pregnant and then giving birth and then you give your newborn over to someone else. SCARY.

They (they meaning the publishing co) have shipped an actual printed 'proof' copy to me. If you don't think that I will be haunting my mailbox the next few days you are sadly mistaken. They also sent me a couple of book covers that I need to 'tweek' and then choose what I want the cover to look like. Once I have checked the proof copy for any last minute corrections the thing goes to press!!

I mean, I got super excited when I found out it was so close to actually being available for the public. I did it... By golly, I really did it!!

I can't believe that the dream of writing that book is all but over and done with!!

Naturally I will keep you posted on it's progress. The printing process should take between 6-8 weeks. So, around the first of September be on the lookout for a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT ...

                                                                                             Much Love,

  4. I can not wait! Remember when you dragged it out of a closet or drawer somewhere and decided to work on it some more? You were doubtful but I was not! You are a wonderful writer and right at that time you really needed some project to keep your mind busy. Elbert would be so very proud. I know your family will be, too. How exciting. Congratulations and I will be waiting!!!!!

By the way, I wanted to tell you that Tanya in Roanoke (monroega.blogspot.com) has taken over Random 5 Fridays, and is calling it Willy Nilly Friday. She had her first day of the meme this past Friday. I knew you'd want to know! Another one you may like (because there's plenty of old abandoned houses and rusted farm equipment everywhere!) is Rubbish Tuesday done by Rubbish by Roan (rubbishbyroan.blogspot.com)

    Love you!
