The News, Food and Christmas

Today is Random Five  and Friday Fragments
Come on over and join in with five of your random thoughts and things you do.

1. First of all, I am not going to elaborate or explain myself except I am going to say just this one thing!  I am sick to death of watching the newscasts right now!!
                                                         So, I don't.

2. Christmas is zooming up on me at rapid rate! I just hope I can get everything done. But, then, this happens to me every blooming year..
                                                                            I PANIC
and then Christmas comes, everyone gets their gifts, we enjoy ourselves and I CALM down ...
                                                                                                 Until Next December!!

3. Does anyone know when Downton Abbey comes back on with it's new season? I have been having withdrawal symptoms for ages now!!
If you haven't seen it, you really should. It's superb.

4. I had some left-over pork roast this week so I got online & found a recipe.
                               It's called Easy Stir-Fried Pineapple Pork. Y-U-M-M-Y.

5. Have you seen the price of gasoline lately? About time, I say!

  2. I will be happy when Downton Abbey is back .
Me and you both are sick of this news and the people in it. It is like (The nightmare before Christmas) and Thanksgiving.

  3. #1 You aren't into 24 hour news?
#2 Christmas can easily become like trying to get 10 lb of potatoes into a 5 lb sack.
    #3 No and I don't care.
#4 Fancy, I just heat stuff up in the microwave.
#5 What goes down can go up!

  4. I enjoyed the first season of Downton Abbey but haven't seen it since. You're right--very good! I just went shopping with Yvonne (just two stores--we pooped out!) and I said, "Next year I'm going to start a lot earlier!" I think I say that EVERY year!!! :-) That pork recipe sounds very good! I have a whole chicken thawing out...baked chicken tomorrow with potatoes and green beans and some leftover dressing and cranberry sauce!

  5. I agree, I am sick of the news too. I refuse to watch it.. I have finally bought some Christmas gifts, so I feel a little better. I expect the gas to go up very soon, the election is over.. Have a happy weekend!

  7. I rarely watch news either, too depressing.
I can so relate to #2 - That sounds exactly like me.
    Never have watched Downtown Abbey.
I like stir fry, that one sounds good.
Yep, finally made it below 3.00 here this week.

  9. Regular gas has dropped considerably....but the diesel is still high. I remember long ago, it was just the opposite...cheaper diesel and higher on the regular ...go figure.

I do NOT watch TV period. We finally realized that paying $mega bucks$ for cable/commercial time mostly was all kinds of wrong. Nope, nope...no news for me either.

And pork and pineapple together just has to be a winning combination.

  10. Hi, Latane...I was in panic mode yesterday and Mr. Sweet said, "calm down...take it easy...it's only Dec 6th and we have plenty of time". Then I found an awesome crock pot recipe for my dinner on Christmas Eve when all the family is here...I took several deep breaths, got my big girl panties on, swore to get to Target today for items for stocking stuffers....and now, ......I'M STILL ABOUT HALF IN A PANIC...hahaaa...
Did you get my check? We mailed it a couple weeks ago.....i sure hope it didn't get lost in the mail. PLEASE let me know.

  12. The news is something I never watch as we do not subscribe to any cable or satellite service and my life is not the least bit upset. Of course, we still read news online, but at least can control what we choose to reqd. No big shopping p,qns for us this year, as it's become wqy too overblown. The pork and pineqpple sounds like a great combo.
