Mr. Blue Jay

It's Wednesday... as some people say 'hump day' but I say ABC day.

Go over to ABC WEDNESDAY and check out what's going on.

                                                                  It's "B" day....

For my selection I am choosing the nasty BLUE JAY. Mean little rascal, that's what they are, but look how colorful. And, oh, they can be noisy and annoying.

All the years I lived in Wakefield I never saw a blue jay but once.  I certainly have never seen one here at the apartment. So, I am happy I got a picture of the one I did see.

  4. We have these wretched birds everywhere and they are so very pretty with such testy, negative attitudes!
    Shame on them!

  8. I can't help but love our noisy blue jays, they're the clowns of our bird feeders. Yes, they scatter more on the ground than they actually eat but the smaller birds clean that up too or our hens. And you have to love that brilliant blue color on a gray January day.

  9. They can be naughty little birds to the others.

  10. I love their spunk. It's fun to watch them fly-by, grabbing a peanut from the feeder without even landing then burying it somewhere in the yard or flower bed and covering it with a leaf, or whatever is handy. One of the squirrels caught on, so it followed along and took the peanut! They are vocal, a good alarm system when there's a hawk in the area.

  11. I have heard that BlueJays can be rascals ---but I think mine here are the 'okay kind'... Mine never seem to hog the feeders or run off the other birds... I buy them peanuts (in shells) and they love them. It's fun to watch them grab those peanuts and take off.....

    Hugs,
    Betsy
