After a good night's rest we were ready to tackle the new day in Rye. It was summer camp for grandson Tighe so we girls headed to Manursing Island Beach Club to have lunch. Have to say.... I love that place. So peaceful, beautiful, just perfect for lunchtime with my daughters.
Looking from the terrace to the front entry way at Manursing.
The beach area with the umbrellas all in place and sailboats on Long Island Sound.
I settle into a chair on the terrace to await some lunch. That's daughter Susan with me. Hey, isn't she supposed to be bringing me my lunch?
Two of my daughters, Susan and Shirley, enjoying the gentle breeze from the sound.
Tighe finds some camp buddies to hang out with. The two younger ones find the game Tighe is playing on his Mom's phone quite fascinating.
Seagulls fly around overhead. This one perches atop one of the umbrellas. I had this crazy thought... I wonder if that gull thinks the umbrella finial is an egg. See it just in front of the bird? Sure looks like it to me!!
On the way home Susan drives us by a boat launch near the beach club. I just had to take a picture. That's an interesting building.
And, so, that ends day 2 of my visit in Rye, New York.
What a beautiful place! Looks as though you had a lovely time! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place...you've captured it wonderfully, Mom! Your photos are great! Yes, I think that finial looks like an egg! :-)
ReplyDeleteBtw, I think your photo of the red-tailed was incredible! I just "lucked out" having the Cooper Hawks decide to hang out in my back yard! Never happen again in a million years! :-)
Yes a beautiful place. It looks rather "up market" too and a lovely place to spend time with your handsome family.

ReplyDeleteHey I had to tell you my photo of the girl on the beach was Rye in the Mornington Peninsula which is an hours drive from Melbourne, fancy us both having been to Rye! Your Rye looks much calmer what a wonderful day you had, I could so do a day at your beach club too!! I reckon you're right, the seagulls could easily get confused with all those eggs on top of umbrellas!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy week.

This trip looks heavenly!
ReplyDeleteJust catching up on your NY trip posts, Latane. It looks like you had not only great weather but a wonderful time. My favorite photo is the one with the three boys so intent on that game. Your daughters are lovely.
