Growing Old, Having Fun

Today I just feel like doing another of my 'Growing Old Gracefully' posts. Maybe the title should be just 'Growing Old' because I have a hard time feeling graceful. I try to be graceful and gracious but somehow I think I miss the mark, well, most of the time anyway. Because I do love to have fun and having fun and graceful just doesn't sound like they go together, do they?

I have always said that I was going out of this world, kicking and screaming. Not ready, Lord. Got things to do, Lord. How about another five years, Lord?

Yes, there are things I would not do.... ever! young or old. Like skydiving (hehe, I accidently typed 'skydying' and that's how I feel about it)
That's my granddaughter up there! Not me!

or climbing a mountain (that's work, not fun). You get the picture.

But, here's some things I definately would do.
Now, that is not me on that merry-go-round but I love merry-go-rounds and would climb on one in a heartbeat.

Another picture I did not take... but wouldn't swinging be so much fun!

or playing in the water at the beach?

acting goofy. I do that pretty well.

yes, acting goofy again, with my great-grandson.

traveling anyplace I want to go. And, there are a bunch of places I want to go.

I am ready... are you? Don't ever give up on life.

People made rocking chairs, God gave us the desire to get out of them and have fun.

  3. It sounds like you are want to have fun in the later years. I love merry-go-rounds too, and swinging. : )
I smiled when you said you wanted to travel. One day my mom out of the blue said at 70 years old, I want to go to Egypt..........and she did!

    Have a wonderful week.

  8. You go girl! :-) I would do a zipline, and would love to repel off a mountain face, but I doubt if I'll ever get to do either. NOT interested in skydiving (your typo was funny & I agree...apropos!) Or scubadiving. My lack of energy keeps me on the couch a lot, but my heart to do things is still there. Travel...oh YES! I'm trying to figure out how to get to Hawaii for our 49th (why wait till 50?) It can count for both, because if we make it to Hawaii for year 49, we'll probably still be paying for it on our 50th ! :-) Forty-seven is what's coming up next May, and I figure a hotel room, a massage and a hot tub will be all I'll need!

Love that photo and saying at the beginning of your post, by the way! Love you!
