Peanut Picking Time

The snow is still around, not as much but still making things white out there. And, the temperature is in the teens so I am staying inside!!

Tom the backroads traveller has a new meme Tuesday's Treasures. I am not nearly into memes as I was but I thought I'd join in his this morning. It's about Treasures (old stuff) and I had to go into my archives to see what I had that I could use.

And, there were those neat pictures I had taken ages ago when I lived in Wakefield. The town is known for it's peanut production and my favorite place to buy peanuts is Adam's Plantation Peanuts. This old machinery for picking peanuts sits outside his store. Old stuff like that fascinates me.

Look at all those wheels and gears. And, it was horse drawn! Just too cool.

  1. Thanks Latane for sharing this peanut picker from the past. Now say that 10 times quickly! The ingenuity that went into this contraption is amazing. Stay warm and I hope that you will be able to unearth more treasures from the past.

  11. You've got a couple of opposites here. Lots of snow and peanut harvest.

  12. I would not have known what that old piece of equipment was. I think it's great to have some pieces of history still intact and out where people can see them!
