Is It Spring Yet?

1. It's Friday and it's dark and dreary, with the wind blowing 'ninety to nothin'. Sorry, that's just an old saying when it is blowing really hard. And, I have to get out in this drizzle and breeze to have my hair done, then go on for a photo shoot. The church is making a picture directory. Gee, wonder if I can get my hair back in place in time for the camera?

2. I am so excited! I saw my first daffodils of the season yesterday . Time to search for more signs of spring.

 3. I didn't share the picture of this amazing birthday cake, did I? My little great-grandson T had his 2nd birthday a couple month ago. His Nana made the cake. He wanted a dinasour  oh heck how do you spell that. Anyway... he got what he wanted....in a big way.

4. I wonder if it's just me, but I tend to be a lot less patience with negativity than I used to be. Life is just too short.

5. After years of shelving my genealogy, I am back into it... albeit at a slower pace now.

  1. Hi Latane...I am Genie and live in Lexington. How much snow did you all get? We got about 2 inches on the grass, and the trees are heavenly with the wet snow on their branches. I hope my daffs are OK. Yours look wonderful and tell me spring really is just around the corner. That is the cutest cakes. That reminds me of our family tradition of always having carrot cakes for the three birthdays with a BIG carrot and a bunny. This is my first visit to your blog. Hope to see you again soon. Genie

  2. Hi Latane, I love it that you can get excited about those cheerful daffodils! Thats the way it should be...shouldn't it? And the dinosaur cake is a work of art! You go Nana...fantastic job! (I once took a Wilton cake decorating class...I had more icing on the floor than on the cake! We eventually agreed it was cheaper to order a cake when we needed one and it sure cheered up the cake maker...which was myself!) Everything is quiet here and our world is covered with a beautiful mantle of snow...a dusting more or less. I won't be so enthusiastic when I have to go out later, thats for sure. Have a blessed day Latane

  11. My daffodils are blooming and tomorrow I shall bring them in to brighten the house. I have a self-imposed rule that I can't have fresh flowers in the house unless it's clean, and I need to vacuum and dust in the worst way.

  14. Spring is around the corner for sure. I can tell here because the daffodils have started blooming and now the "spring rains" arrive to beat them down. Yours are so pretty. - That was a really cool dinosaur cake.

  16. Pretty daffodils! I just found a crocus blooming and it was so exciting. Now the rains are supposed to start and last all week. It will really bring the grass to life, I'm thinking. Have a nice week!
