I love getting mail... you know, the real kind that comes in a mailbox out by the road. So, I did a watercolor featuring a little girl retrieving some letters from her mailbox. I was going to link those to Scribble Picnic but for some reason let Wednesday get away from me. But, it is not too late for Paint Party Friday. And, how about Sunday Sketches? I don't want to miss that.
The little girl is not the only thing catching up on the latest mail.
Here's my hedgehog.
LOve your mail-box pictures, so darling. Happy PPF and have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThese are so sweet! The next Scribble Picnic is 'bird' for next Wed Jun 14th!
ReplyDeletesweet drawings!!! i LOVE snail mail - i think we exchanged letters once!!??
ReplyDeleteAwl, Miss Latane,
ReplyDeleteI love that hopeful little girl awaiting a note! I remember years ago painting that exact pose as a Holly Hobbie for our little small-town post office lobby. I'm NOT a painter at ALL, but they wanted it.
And I want Hedgie to come sit by MY mailbox!
rachel
adorable art Latane!! Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteBoth are adorable, I love to get mail too.
ReplyDeleteThese two are very cute Latane, love your artwork very much. Isn't it the truth about getting mail. I still love to find a letter in our mailbox.
ReplyDeleteI love the little girl in her fabulous bonnet. I can remember my great grandmother, who was killed in a car wreck when I was 5, used to wear a bonnet to do gardening. About 30 years ago I found a bonnet and bought it but never wore it. Just this week I gave that bonnet to Goodwill! The hedgehog is so cute with his little belly button showing.
ReplyDeleteOh so sweet and gorgeous, both of them - real heartwarming scenes :D)
ReplyDeletesweet as can be, love it! You should get yourself some address labels made with that picture, you can get them made at wal mart or wal greens! Hope you have a real nice weekend, will you be staying in or do you have any plans?
ReplyDeleteYears ago it was nice to go to the mailbox, today I only find invoices in mine ! Everybody writes emails or calls !
ReplyDeleteI used to enjoy getting mail but lately it's just a statement or two. Your little drawings are so adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhat delightful pieces!!! These are so good. I cannot do people, or hedgehogs, methinks!
ReplyDeleteThey are darling! I especially like the hedge hog.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if my comment went through to you...because after writing it I nipped into your biography and when I returned the comment had disappeared.
ReplyDeleteWell basically I said that your artwork was so delightful especially the added addition of the little tummy button on the hedgehog. It elevates his cuteness.
As for 'snail mail' as we call it here...who doesn't like hearing the letterbox lit shut. Woohoo... I think it's one of life's pleasures, but obviously not bills and invoices!
Bringing friends and family right into your house is the best.
Have a wonderful weekend...waving from Bonnie Scotland :D
So cute...both of them. I think it would be fun to do a scrapbook of your best sketches!
ReplyDeleteYour first drawing reminds me of Holly Hobbie, remember her? And your cute little Hedgie needs a ladder, or a tall friend, to get his mail. Short folks problems...
ReplyDeletevery sweet drawings this week!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet and lovely painting and sketch! Mails are fun to get, but they are rarely nowadays...
ReplyDeleteThese are both so lovely Latane.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan

ReplyDeleteand the top piece is very nice too, the colours work well together :)
Simply delightful!!
ReplyDeleteSweet painting and cute one of the hedgehog.
ReplyDeleteI too enjoy getting mail and so send out cards and nites to friends all the time figuring others also enjoy it. And, I would be more than happy to send you a card and note, just contact me through my blog email address😉
ReplyDeleteCute! Glad I looked back through your blog and saw these.
ReplyDeleteSnail mail, or Hedgie mail, is the best!
ReplyDeleteBoth my dad and my father-in law were mail-men, my dad a desk clerk, and Kenny had a rural route. He was a biologist, and once he found a worm in the box, a native earthworm, (which my mother-in law studied!) That hedgie world have enjoyed his find!
