When Have You Written a Letter?

Remember when we used to write letters (and receive them) from/to those we loved?

(look at the price of that stamp!)
                                                                                 Man, that was awhile ago!

                                                                                I really miss that.

I just thought I'd let you know that there is a site called lettermo.com that is conducting a letter writing challenge the month of February.

The U. S. Postal Service always holds it's letter-writing month in April and I certainly plan to write as many letters as I can during that time. BUT.... I don't want to join a challenge (I might not live up to it) but I would like to write as many letters as I can in this Month of Love (February, you know).

How about you? I'd like to do my own challenge. Why don't we post on Living Life On Main Street on the last day of February just how many letters (that's personal ones, now, not business) that we wrote this month. It might be fun. Even those that don't write a single one I think would be fun to just see who did and who didn't.

* I have been asked.... yes, let's count postcards, too. But, no greeting cards unless you write a note in those.

You know, I think up all these crazy things. I hope it helps me stay younger and active and keeps that mind of mine working well.

I do so appreciate all the contact I have with my blogging buddies and I am thankful for each and every one of you.

  2. Letters certainly are beautiful things. After finding the letter my great-grandmother wrote to me, I think I should do better with writing letters to those I love.

  5. This is a wonderful idea! I have two people right now I need to write a short letter to, so if I get those done, I'll be able to include them in the list!

  6. I wrote letters to all my relatives on the East coast for years and saved all that they sent me back. I love writing letters, but rarely get a reply these days. I'll send a few more and see how it goes!

  7. I do enjoy getting a personal note in the mail, but email is so much more timely and quick. My mom, sister, and I email just about every day, sometimes more than once. Holidays are when I send snailmail though. I just spent hours making my grandsons all valentines and will be writing notes and sending a few more of those so I think I'm doing my part for letter writing this month.

  8. I still write out cards and quick notes. I don't write long letters, though. The phone is much easier for that! Thanks for linking up today!

  9. I can't remember the last time I actually wrote and mailed a real letter. Now I just email people. My sisters and my brother email each other a few times a week because we are so far apart. I do have a grand-nephew who just left for the Marines and is at Parris Island. I know I will be writing to him.

    1. Thank you, Carrie, for following me. I will enjoy your visits and will be looking for a report on your letter writing. This ought to be fun as well as us keeping in touch with people we might not be.

  12. Hello, the last time I wrote a letter was in a Christmas card. Which reminds me of the book I read called the Christmas Letters.
I guess cards do not count? It is a great challenge and idea. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
