Random Five for Friday

Friday means it's Random Five Friday. Thanks, Nancy, for hosting this amazing meme.

1. Today is my daughter, Shirley's, birthday! Happy birthday, sweet girl.

2. It was actually cool enough yesterday morning so that I could have my late breakfast out on my patio. How nice!

3. This is a familiar sight in my neck of the woods. Virginia farmers taking over the highway as they travel from farm to farm. I wish my car was small enough so I could just scoot through that hole!

4. I was pea-green with envy all last week. My niece was in Paris and I so want to go again. But, I don't think I could have kept up with her... that writer's retreat bunch was on the go!! picture from flickr

5. And so, my last random five has to do with Paris. It is so on my mind lately! I remember arriving at Gare du Nord train station in Paris with my youngest daughter, Susan, when she went to Paris to model. Another world, quite an adventure. The year 1986.               picture from pinterest.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone else's entries on Random Five. Why don't you join us? Have a great weekend.

  4. Happy Birthday to your beautiful daughter!

I'd love to see Paris. I hope you get to go back again!

Your patio looks like the perfect place to have breakfast! It's been too hot here to sit on our patio until late evening. It catches the morning sun and is hot most of the day. But, we often eat our supper there. Don't you just love eating outside?

Great photos and post. I'll have to join in on the Random Five Friday one of these days.

    Have a nice weekend!

  5. What a wonderful variety of images! You and your daughter are beautiful, too. (As for that farm equipment, we have it here in the valleys of NE Oregon....I always think of some science fiction scene when I see the giant machines. I, too, want to drive under one.

  12. Thanks for stopping by my blog today! A year or so ago, I rode along with the hi crop sprayer when he sprayed out fields...he told me stories about how when he was travelling on the road, a motorcycle came up behind him and buzzed underneath and scared him!

  13. Latane,
Yay for you and your daughter that you could spend her birthday together!

When I went to visit my Sister, we ate super on her patio. It's fun to eat outside and enjoy the view.

I am guessing you had a wonderful experience in Paris. Wow!
